According to L.I.C.A.B., this prestigious recognition is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students, embodying the values of kindness, empathy, and leadership.
Sayville Schools superintendent Dr. Marc Ferris congratulated Dr. Foy on the award.
“Dr. Foy is a champion for all of his students, the award is well deserved, and the Sayville community is so fortunate to have him as our instructional leader at Sunrise Drive Elementary School,” he said. Joe Salamone the founder and executive director of L.I.C.A.B., noted that Dr. Foy’s nomination stood out against a remarkable pool of nominees.
“Your actions, which have positively impacted those around you and inspired others to foster a culture of respect and understanding, are a testament to your value to our community,” Salamone said. “We are proud to honor your dedication and the difference you have made in the lives of so many.”
Dr. Foy will be celebrated at a reception in October for this special honor.
Sunrise Drive principal Dr. James Foy and Sunrise Drive mascot Sunny the Duck. Dr. Foy was recently named a Long Island Coalition Against Bullying Long Island School Hero Honoree.
