Retrieving a lost trooper: SCPD recover missing statue

Posted

Stormtroopers may be known for protecting the galactic Empire, but one such stormtrooper needed some protection from the Suffolk County Police Department to return to its rightful owner.

A 3-foot-tall stormtrooper statue was stolen from outside Blast From the Past in Bay Shore earlier this month.

Police received information regarding the location of the statue. Third Precinct Sgt. Matt Augustine, officers Frank Gigante and Steve D’Amico, along with First Precinct Crime Section officers Walter Sosnowski and John Terrillion, recovered the statue at a Wyandanch residence.

The stormtrooper was returned to the business a short time later. A Bay Shore woman was arrested in relation to the theft.
