Islip Arts Council presents Swingtime Big Band at Long Island Maritime Museum, July 17 (rain date July 18). Join Long Island’s premier swing band when they present their All-American program, which will feature classic songs from stage and screen. The 20-piece ensemble will recreate the sounds of Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Harry James and more.

Nashville Thursdays in Bay Shore: Every Thursday until the end of summer, come enjoy live music at local bars and restaurants between 6 and 8 p.m. Participating venues include Fire Island Vines, Local Burger Co., Napper Tandy’s, The Penny Pub, T.J. Finley’s and Rock City Dogs

Maggie Fischer Memorial Great South Bay Swim, July 9: This annual swim begins at the Fire Island Lighthouse and finishes at Gilbert Park in Brightwaters. More information can be found at greatsouthbayswim.com.
