Friends of Lakeview Cemeteries, in conjunction with the Great Brookhaven Cleanup, will host a cleanup day Saturday May 14 from 10 a.m. to noon The tasks include cutting grass, raking leaves, picking up litter and planting flowers.
An all-volunteer committee of the nonprofit Greater Patchogue Foundation, The Friends mission is to “restore, improve and preserve the historic cemeteries located on West Main Street in the Village of Patchogue,” collectively known as “Lakeview.”
Every spring, individuals and groups like the Town of Brookhaven join the Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest organized cleanup, beautification and community improvement program.
