Handwritten Torah completed

On Sunday, Aug. 15, a celebration was held for the completion of the Islip Community Torah. The Torah took over a year to write by hand by an expert scribe. The Torah helped bring the Islip community together during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, as people could feel that they could be a part of something larger than themselves. The new Torah was celebrated with a procession down Main Street as well as music and food.
