Get ready to laugh your socks off

Looking to escape your day-to-day routine for a few hours? In need of some good laughs? Tired of binge-watching Netflix for hours on end? Then do I have the perfect solution for you!

Running until Aug. 22, “Noises Off,” at the BayWay Arts Center in East Islip, is a laugh-out-loud comedic hit. This three-act play-within-a-play follows the cast of “Nothing On” as they rehearse and then tour their play throughout England.

Even though I am a lover of theatre, I had never seen “Noises Off” before the show at BayWay, nor did I really know the premise of the show. This made it all the more fun! The entire cast was hysterical, and though the show itself is a bit lengthy, it never felt too long or dragged out.

This would be a great show to see even if you are not the biggest fan of traditional theatre, because it is so funny and I guarantee you will never be bored. This show also reminds one of the magic of theatre, because even though it has been previously developed into a movie, it is the type of story that so clearly shines on a stage.

A big kudos must be given to Steve Cottonaro, who undertook the scenic design for this show. The set was absolutely terrific and without giving too much away, absolutely essential for this particular play. The set almost feels like a character in and of itself.

It must also be noted that the service at BayWay is absolutely amazing. Being able to order food and drinks from one’s seat is such a nice perk. The wait staff have been incredibly accommodating the last few times I have been to the theatre with the guest I was with this time, even saying the latte she ordered was one of the best she has ever had.

So, if you’re looking to get out of your normal routine, go pay BayWay a visit and enjoy both a show and service that gets five stars.
