Anthony Rodia won’t be doing his hilarious Italian characters.

But he will be hilariously funny.

Rodia, who crafted his current blockbuster career via social media savvy and stand-up comedy, will appear at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on Friday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. with “The Road Rage Tour.”

“He’s like the hottest thing on Tik Tok now,” said Patchogue Theatre associate director Jodi Giambrone of the first-generation Italian-American native from New Rochelle. “Everyone loves him. He’ll be doing the man behind the characters, in this show, way funnier.”

Rodia will discourse about life’s absurdities, including parenthood, marriage, and well, road rage.

Giambrone sat down with the Advance to discuss the theatre’s upcoming shows for 2022, a great slate of 40 diverse offerings through May, all with star power, debuting in February.

“We had small shows in January,” Giambrone explained, like “Jokes on Main,” The Loading Dock, and a documentary about the Joe Cocker tour, “Learning to Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs and Englishmen.”

Looking for a little romance right now?  Singer Ruben Studdard is sure to crank up the love pheromones on Valentine’s Eve with “Ruben Sings Luther,” singing Luther Vandross songs. “That might be a good show for husbands, wives, girlfriends and boyfriends,” Giambrone said of the Feb. 13, Friday night show at 7:30 p.m. Studdard, a well-known singer, actor, and “American Idol” winner, received a Grammy Award nomination in 2003 for Best Male R & B Vocal Performance. He’s been compared to Vandross because of his beautiful, sweet voice.

“He’ll have a full band with him and backup singers,” added executive director Michele Rizzo-Berg.

Want to tap your toes, clap in tune, and maybe even do a jig in your seat? You can’t get any more Irish than “Danú: An Irish Celebration” on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. The band Danú hails from counties Waterford, Cork, Dublin and Donegal. This exuberant award-winning group plays flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion and bouzouki, with star vocalist Nell Ní Chróinín who pumps up audiences.

Other performers for next month include “Carl Palmer: The Emerson Lake and Palmer Experience” on Friday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. and Little River Band on Friday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. 

“And we just added Ace Frehley, the original Kiss guitarist, on March 3,” said Giambrone.

“Marky Ramone: My Life as a Ramone,” originally scheduled for Feb. 5, was rescheduled for April 29.

Ticket prices are reasonable: They start at $29 to $75 with some variations.

“We’ve definitely been getting a lot of positive feedback on our program,” Giambrone said. “Our artists are ready to get back on the road.”
