Don’t miss the Fall Fest

Help the chamber find a veteran to honor

Posted

The fair will be held on Oct. 18 with no rain date and a closed-off Main Street in Center Moriches from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will over 100 vendors, food trucks, and of course, the Main Street merchants displaying their merchandise as well as the Main Street eateries serving up tasty snacks and meals.

“Visitors are encouraged to spend the day enjoying the music and food, browsing the vendors and stopping into the many local Main Street businesses that will be open throughout the fair,” said chamber president Jackie Osborne.

This year’s musical lineup includes Milagro, Hot Water St., Sitting Ducks, After Dark Duo with Jimmy & Jackie Osborne, 2 EZ Band and Classic Jam.

Vendor spots are $100. Nonprofit vendor spots are $50. Chamber member vendor spots are $50. Food truck spots are $200 due to the need for two spots.

Applications and payment can be completed online through the Chamber website at moricheschamber.org, or applications may be submitted by mail. Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so vendors are encouraged to register early. Visit the website for the complete application, deadlines, rules and registration information.

The chamber is also seeking nominations for the Veterans Memorial Parade grand marshal. The parade will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Nominees may be honorably discharged veterans, retired servicemembers, active-duty servicemembers, or other current or former members of the United States armed forces who have demonstrated distinguished service to our country and/or our community.

Nominations should include a short biography highlighting the nominee’s military service and community involvement and should be emailed to chambermoriches@gmail.com. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 15.

“The Chamber looks forward to honoring a deserving member of our military community for their service and dedication,” Osborne said.

This year, the chamber will also be celebrating 100 years in service with a “Great Gatsby”-style celebration. The 100th anniversary party will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Rock Hill Country Club.

Tickets are on sale now for $75 per person, which includes a buffet dinner, open bar and music by The New Millennium Jazz Band.

“Roaring ’20s cocktail attire is encouraged, so break out the fringe, feathers, pearls and bow ties and join us for a fun evening celebrating a century of the Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches,” said Osborne.
