CONFIRMED: Bellport I.G.A to close

Posted

The Long Island Advance has officially confirmed the closing of the beloved I.G.A, formerly Cirillo’s Markets, located at 115 South Country Road in Bellport Village.

The business was previously family owned for over 30 years offering specialties, the best in organic produce, custom meats, gourmet deli items, and imported cheeses.

The market was recently sold in 2021 to Domenic Papa, the owner of a Connecticut car dealership, who also purchased the Amagansett I.G.A. from Fran Cirillo at that time.

Though neither the landlord nor owner of the market could be reached for comment, rumors state the reason for the closure is due to a non-lease renewal. It has not been made public the details of what might fill its place.

Messages on the Bellport Village Resident’s Facebook page from local residents mourned the loss of their local market most recalling their favorite memories of the grocery store and others offering suggestions to help save it.

More information to come.
