The summer of 2026 has unfortunately come to an end. And with the end of summer, Camp PaQuaTuck has completed its 79th season. It was an extremely successful year at the camp for all of our special-needs children and young adults alike. The administrative staff, facilities staff and counselors all exceeded expectations. It is so rewarding to see our campers have a great time experiencing a summer of fun just as every person, young or old, would. As has been said for our past 79 years, “Summer is for Everyone”.
The camp’s buildings, grounds and infrastructure have never looked better. Our new dormitory, “Prissy’s Cabin,” is now about 70 percent complete, and we are all looking forward to its opening in summer 2027. This will bring the number of campers served at the camp from 50 to 60 campers per week for 10 weeks.
During this past Labor Day weekend, “Bradstock” held its 33rd annual festival for the benefit of the camp. The two-day festival held on the camp’s grounds is a celebration of music, poetry and fun. Some of the most talented people on Long Island performed on four different stages. All of them are volunteers. We are already looking forward to Bradstock 2027.
As you are reading this, the Moriches Rotary 17th annual Oktoberfest at Camp Pa Qua Tuck has taken place. The three-day event featured authentic German beers, music, food and entertainment, again, for the benefit of the camp. The event is hosted by The Rotary Club of the Moriches, on the camp’s grounds. We also have carnival rides and games on site for our younger participants.
Another group of volunteers each year holds the Fuoco Golf Feastival at the Rock Hill Golf and Country Club. The Feastival is organized by the second and third generation of the Fuoco family and The Patchogue Rotary Club. There are 18 holes of golf and excellent Italian food on almost every hole on the course, followed by an amazing buffet dinner.
And don’t forget the largest event to take place at the camp.
Spooky Walk is coming up on Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24. This is one of the premier Halloween events on all of Long Island. Spooky Walk is hosted and organized by an extraordinary group of women, The Pa Qua Tuck Fundraisers.
A huge amount of thanks goes out to all of the volunteers that each year come and give their time and effort in support of Camp Pa Qua Tuck. Without these wonderful groups of people, maintaining the summer camp experience for the special-needs attendees would be a monumental struggle.
A heartfelt thank you and debt of gratitude goes to each and every one of you.
Coming to the camp in winter ‘26 and spring ‘27:
Mark your calendars and come join in on the fun.
