Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a bicyclist in Bay Shore the night of Saturday, Feb. 3.
Juan Miguitama-Aguilar was riding a bicycle, crossing eastbound from the sidewalk in front of 1320 5th Avenue, when he was struck by a southbound 2007 Toyota Camry in the right lane of 5th Avenue, at approximately 9:10 p.m.
Miguitama-Aguilar, 67, of Bay Shore, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota, Cynthia Rumplick, 66, of Central Islip, was not injured.
The Toyota was impounded for a safety check.
