And in the blink of an eye, it’s that time of year again!

As summer winds to a close and the kiddos prepare for the beginning of classes, it’s time to stock up on all the newest gadgets, clothes and accessories for kids and parents alike. The Islip Bulletin checked out some local shops where you can pick up some great back-to-school items.

This cute surf and apparel shop on Main Street in Bay Shore has great clothing options for kids as well as a large array of backpack choices. Tweens and teens will love the stylish and comfy tees, sweatshirts and shorts available. Also a big hit is the large array of Long Island-themed stickers, perfect for laptops and binders! Newer local brand Northern Nav is also available for purchase at Nalu. The apparel line specializes in nautical-inspired looks.

Lemon Tree Islip

Looking for some chic clothes and accessories to freshen up your fall wardrobe? Whether you’re a high schooler, college student or teacher, Origin of Era in Bay Shore has an amazing selection of cute, small batch and sustainable products. On a recent trip, this reporter was able to pick up an amazing candle for late-night studying sessions, as well as adorable earrings and a headband for adding that extra touch to any outfit. If you’re looking for the perfect cozy sweater for those chilly fall days, look no further than Little Shop of Shamrocks in Bay Shore. This store, established in 1988, specializes in Irish imports and giftware and carries amazing selection of sweaters.
