The holiday season has already begun, and some holiday-themed events in Islip Bulletin’s coverage area come around before November ends. There are several in December, too. Check out which ones fit in your schedule in the upcoming weeks.

Photos with Santa and sale

Nov. 30, 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Brightwaters

Visit the newly renovated Wohseepee Park Cabin on North Windsor Avenue on Saturday to take pictures with Santa. Children are encouraged to submit their letters or wish lists in the Village of Brightwaters’ mailbox. Holiday plants and wreaths will also be for sale at the event. Those interested in photos with Santa are encouraged to bring pets to be in the shot. Photos cost $15, and customers receive a 5x7 printed on site. A digital version can be sent via text message for an additional $5.

Tree lighting

Nov. 30, 5 p.m.

Brightwaters

Santa, along with Mrs. Claus, will make their way to the head of the Brightwaters Canal on a Fire Island water taxi for the village tree lighting on Saturday. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served, and music will be provided by Bay Shore High School students.

Although everyone is set to gather at 4 p.m., those marching in the Santa parade will begin their route at 5 p.m. from Ocean Avenue eastward on Main Street and ending at Town Hall. Additionally, those whom are interested in marching can register ecerna1@northwell.edu.

Bay Shore and Brightwaters residents are encouraged to light their yards, driveways, walkways and sidewalks with luminaries prepared by volunteers associated with the Bay Shore Beautification Society.
