Third annual Santa Brunch at Kiwanis Club in Islip
Switching from breakfast to a brunch this year, the third annual Santa Brunch Buffet features attractive raffle prizes, gifts upon entry, a DJ, and of course, a visit from Santa Claus. The brunch, hosted by Kiwanis Club of the Islips-Bay Shore, is scheduled to begin at noon on Sunday, Dec. 15 at Marconi Manor on Moffitt Boulevard in Islip hamlet.
The Chinese auction features two feature prizes: a television-PlayStation 4 bundle as well as an Amali wine and food class in New York City, each valued at $650 and $1,500, respectively.
Tickets are $22 for adults and $12 for children, and children 6 years old and younger have free entry. Tickets can be bought at the door or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Proceeds are slated to benefit Kiwanis charitable efforts. Organizer Sandy Flandina said about 100 people will attend the brunch, which offers eggs, sandwiches, wraps, desserts, cake and more.
Everyone attending is also encouraged to contribute an item for the Toys for Kids toy drive. An unwrapped toy for a child of any age is suitable.
Kiwanis has set up 16 boxes for toy donations in locations all around Islip Town. The toys will be sorted, and then, on Dec. 18 through the end of the season, the toys will be distributed.
For the third straight year, original Kiwanis charter member Rich Albrecht will play Santa for the event. Albrecht represents Albrecht Bruno O’Shea Funeral Home, which is a sponsor for the Santa Brunch Buffet. Other sponsors include Atlantic Automall, Hassett Automotive, Good Samaritan and Mary’s Pizza and Pasta.
