Bounty on the Bay
BAY SHORE—The third annual “Bounty on the Bay,” a weekly farmers market, begins this Friday, June 1, on Main Street.
“For many years, our board talked about starting a farmers market in downtown Bay Shore,” Donna Periconi, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore, told this publication upon the market’s formation. “We always knew our band shell in Dr. George S. King Park would be the perfect venue.”
The market vendors this year include: Thera Farms, Lucky 13 Oysters, Don’s Finest Living Foods, Money Breads, Hester & Pearl Baked Goods, Horman’s Pickles, Patty Cake, Germantown Classics and The 6 Juice Guy, just to name a few.
The Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce has also assumed management over the market, according to Periconi. Melissa Dunstatter had managed the event for the last two years.
This Friday, from 4-6 p.m., there will be a guest performer, Periconi added.
The market will be open every Friday between 3-7 p.m. and is slated to run through Aug. 31.
