Baby it’s cold in there
BRIGHTWATERS—Brightwaters Improvement Group held its second annual Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, March 24 at Walker Beach. The nonprofit organization has, in one form or another, been organizing activities and improvement projects in the Village of Brightwaters for decades, according to committee member Christian Sullivan.
B.I.G. raised $4,000 at their inaugural Polar Bear Plunge last year to install a new swing set and a special-needs swing at Walker Beach. The goal this year was $7,000 to provide a new swing set equipped with a special-needs swing for Wohseepee Park, as well as a “senior swing” or glider for senior citizens and a new flag pole, both for Walker Beach.
