BASEBALL

Friday, April 1

  • Bay Shore 12, Connetquot 11: Mike LiVorio hit a walkoff sacrifice fly to center field for Bay Shore (3-0) in Suffolk II. Bay Shore trailed, 11-8, going into the seventh inning and Chris LaRose hit a bases-loaded triple to make it 10-6 in the bottom of the fourth.
  • West Islip 9, West Babylon 5: Johnny Risedorf went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs and drove in the go-ahead run with a squeeze bunt in the sixth. Jimmy Mattera threw 4-1/3 innings, allowing one run and striking out four, and Ray Weber got the final five outs on 13 pitches to lead West Islip (3-0) in Suffolk IV.

Tuesday, April 5

  • East Islip 6, Kings Park 0: Anthony Visconte threw a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk to lead East Islip (2-2) in Suffolk V. Brendan Dowd went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
  • Islip 6, Rocky Point 1: Anthony Navaro went 2-for-4 with four RBIs for Islip (4-0) in Suffolk VI. Paul DiMauro pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, and Andy Lewis went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
  • Sachem North 2, Bay Shore 1: Bay Shore fell in a close game against Sachem North to bring their record to 3-1.

SOFTBALL

Wednesday, March 30

  • West Islip 12, Centereach 4: Gianna Raimondi and Amanda Arena both went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead West Islip (2-1) in Suffolk III. Rachel Wandzilak went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for West Islip.

Tuesday, April 5

  • Bay Shore 19, Central Islip 4: Jamie Soldinger and Nicole Chwalek hit back-to-back homers in the third inning to give Bay Shore (3-2) an 11-2 lead in Suffolk II. Chwalek went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Lauren Collorone went 2-for-2 with four RBIs and earned the win.
  • East Islip 8, Hauppauge 7: Ashley Benvengo scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh to lead East Islip (4-1) in Suffolk IV. She reached base on a sacrifice bunt attempt after the ball was thrown away at first base and she also stole second. After Alise Colandro bunted for a hit, East Islip had the bases loaded with one out. Jenny Murphy attempted to score on a passed ball and was thrown out. On the next pitch, Benvengo scored the game-winning run.
  • Islip 12, Glenn 0: Olivia Vederosa threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead Islip (4-1) in Suffolk V, according to coach Dennis McSweeney. Vederosa faced the minimum number of batters and struck out six. Samantha Seeger went 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and Julia Price went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

  • Connetquot 15, Bay Shore 5: Bay Shore dropped to 1-2 overall.

Saturday, April 2

  • West Islip 17, Carey 5: West Islip improved to 2-1 in non-league.

Tuesday, April 5

  • Shoreham-Wading River 16, Islip 1: Islip dropped to 3-2 overall.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Tuesday, April 5

  • West Islip 15, Half Hollow Hills 5: Emily Piciullo had four goals and two assists, and Vanessa Constantion had three goals and an assist to lead West Islip (3-0) in Suffolk I.
  • Bay Shore 15, Whitman 4: Eighth-grader Ali Susskind had four goals for Bay Shore (1-1) in Suffolk I. Sarah Trupp added two goals, five draw controls, and four ground balls, and Lauren Hendricks had two goals and one assist.
  • Mount Sinai 13, East Islip 4: East Islip dropped to 1-5 overall.

Monday, April 4

  • Eastport-South Manor 15, Islip 3: Islip dropped to 1-3 overall.
